2019 Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe Pow-Wow
Celebrate Native heritage at the 32nd Annual Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe Pow-Wow on Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-26, 2019 at the Upper Mattaponi Tribal Grounds in the King William, Virginia. Experience American Indian arts, drumming and dancing, tribal displays and cultural demonstrations, and plenty of food and drink. There is limited seating, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets. This is a family event and powwow etiquette will be observed; absolutely no drugs or alcohol, and please, no pets. The Upper Mattaponi tribe is officially recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe Pow-Wow
The Upper Mattaponi Indian Pow Wows honors 10,000 years of history and 400 years of survival. The Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe Pow-Wow will feature a drum competition with prizes of up to $1,000, four categories of traditional dance, more than 20 vendors and fish fry, fish tacos, fry bread and more.
