In the midst of the Big Thicket forest near Lake Livingston Texas lies Texas’ oldest Indian Reservation, home of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas. Today, some 550 tribal members live on the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation today, while there is still a large number that live in surrounding towns.
