2019 FNUniv Spring Powwow
Join us at the 41st Annual FNUniv Spring Powwow on April 20-21, 2019 at Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. The FNUniv Spring Powwow will draw thousands of spectators and hundreds of dancers and singers. Some participants will travel to Regina from places such as New Mexico and Florida to take part in the dance or drum contests. If you are a competition dancer, be sure to be on time for the Grand Entries and the extra points because $27,000 in prize money is going to the top four placers in each category. Prize money for the FNUniv Spring Powwow drum contest is $35,000 for the top eight places!
FNUniv Spring Powwow
Our FNUniv Spring Powwow is a ceremony and an opportunity to share our First Nations culture with the rest of the world. It is also a celebration of spring to recognize this joyous time of year. We are thankful for having seen another winter pass and look forward to the rebirth of our Mother Earth.
The First Nations University of Canada Pow-wow is one of the longest and largest running celebrations in Saskatchewan. Everyone is welcome! This come-and-go event has exciting and colorful performances that run continuously throughout the afternoon and evening, beginning with our Grand Entry at 12:00 noon on Saturday and Sunday and closing with a “retiring of the flags” ceremony at about midnight each night.
Be a FNUniv Spring Powwow Volunteer
If you are interested in volunteering, we need more volunteers to sign up, particularly for both Saturday and Sunday shifts for 50/50 Selling! Benefits of volunteering include: Free Admission for the day you volunteer, complimentary meal(s) from the Traditional Food Booth, Volunteer Appreciation Night and more!!!
One of Canada’s major indoor powwows, FNUniv Spring Powwow features dancers from Canada and the United States. Grand entry 12 noon and 7pm Sat and Sun. Traditional foods and First Nations crafts for sale. First Nations and business trade show. Everyone welcome.
The First Nations University Of Canada Pow Wow is alcohol free and is targeted at families and spectators (Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal) visitors of all ages.
