2019 Lakota Omniciye Wacipi | BHSU Pow Wow
All are welcome at the 36th Annual Lakota Omniciye Wacipi on April 12-13, 2019 at the BHSU Donald E Young Field House at the Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. Celebrate American Indian Awareness Week and experience Native American singing and dance competition. This is a family-friendly event. No drugs or alcohol is allowed. Seating is limited, so please bring your own chairs.
Lakota Omniciye Wacipi
Lakota Omniciye, a Black Hills State University student group hosts the annual wacipi. This organization addresses the needs of Native students and coordinates the school’s annual “American Indian Awareness Week”. The Wacipi ends that week, bringing in about 3,000 guests from South Dakota and the surrounding states of Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Nebraska and Minnesota.
