Finger Weaving, Keeping with Tradition is an educational DVD of an ancient weaving technique used by Southeastern Native Tribes in the US . In this DVD you will learn 5 finger weaving designs :
1. The Diagonal
2. The Chevron
3. The Half Lighting
4. The Lighting
5. The Arrowhead
The goal is to make finger weaving fun and easy by using a box, a stick, bulldog clips, and chunky inexpensive yarns with simple instructions, and great visuals.
Plus the weaver will have 5 pretty scarves to wear or share. By the time you have finished these scarves you will be ready to move to quality wools and explore variations of the patterns.
Finger Weaving, Keeping with Tradtion is a result of Jorja Calico and Sharon Ensminger's desire to help preserve and instruct the tradition of Southeastern Native American style finger weaving. Jorja is a registered Western Cherokee. Sharon, a Cherokee finger weaver is a retired educator and administrator who has devoted over 30 years of her career teaching predominantly Native American children in Indian communites.
Sharon is proud of her mixed heritage which includes Southeastern Native American ancestry. Finger weaving was the way she choose to connect with that heritage and loves to share her passion with others.
