There beautiful first quality ermine skins are ideal for use on warbonnets, shirts, feather work, etc. Average lengths are 10"-14" long, including tail. Crazy Crow Trading Post's ermine skins are soft tanned and cased ermine skins are very nice quality.
Cased ermin pelts are removed by cutting the skin up the back of the hind legs from the feet to the vent. The ermin pelt is then peeled back and removed much like removing a pullover sweater. Feet, claws, and tail are removed on some pelts and left attached on others, depending on species. This method leaves the body in a "tube" shape, as compared to the "open" method which leaves the open and flat.
