Moose hair embroidery is often used along with porcupine quills as an additional embellishment when doing traditional quillwork. This fine, hollow moose mane hair allows the creation of some of most delicate embroidery work such as "tufting", which is almost a lost art. Difficult to find and highly sought after in white color so that it can be dyed, we are pleased to offer it after a long search! Imported from Canada and carefully selected with as much white hair as possible, it is furnished attached to 4” squares of hide. Each piece contains approximately ½ ounce of hair, which is actually quite a lot.
