Catlinite, commonly known as Pipestone, is a natural stone found in mines located in the central United States. When polished, Catlinite takes on a rich reddish hue. This stone is traditionally used by Native Americans to create pipes, beads, and other carved items.

Our available slabs measure approximately 3" x 4" in dimension, with a thickness ranging from 3/4" to 1". You will find these slabs easy to carve using standard woodworking tools, such as knives and files.
