Among the Southern Plains tribes in Oklahoma (Comanche, Kiowa, Apache, Cheyenne & Arapaho), Southern Plains Woman's Breastplates are a common accessory worn by women with their dance regalia. Typically made with bone hairpipe and facetted glass "fire polished" beads, Southern Plains Woman's Breastplates are worn over the shoulders, hanging down a bit below the belt in front and at or slightly below the waist in back of the wearer. It is generally worn with both buckskin and cloth dresses, providing a distinctive addition to the outfit.
Note: The back of this breastplate kit looks like the front, except shorter.
