White Nymo Thread - Size A Cone: Nymo thread is best for gourd stitch, earrings, lazy stitch, applique and weft threads for loomwork. For warp threads, we recommend cotton as it does not stretch like Nymo. Use quilting thread for 12/0 and smaller, and button & carpet for 10/0 and 11/0. Nymo can be used for warp threads, too, but it should be pre-stretched before use, even for gourd or lazy stitch. Thread should be coated with beeswax during use as this helps prevent tangling and prolongs the life of the thread.

Nymo thread CONES use by size (see related products below):

  • Size "A" Nymo Thread (or "OO") is best for size 13/0 and smaller beads. 3,000 Yd & 10,800 Yd Sizes.
  • Size "B" Nymo Thread is good for sizes 11/0 and 12/0 beads. 2,330 Yd & 5,100 Yd sizes.
  • Size "D" Nymo Thread works well for both 10/0 and 11/0 beads. 1,585 Yd & 3,000 Yd sizes.
  • Size "F" Nymo Thread is quite heavy and is good for sizes 5/0 & 8/0 pony beads, as well for an all around craft thread for heavy duty sewing of items like moccasins, clothing, drumstick heads, leather bags and similar items. 2,300 yards.

I've been using Nymo thread for years & years. Over 35yrs. Never had a problem with it. I buy the spools because the cones are horrible. They knot like crazy. The wax won't stick to it. I still have the cone I bought because it makes you say bad words if you try to bead anything with it. I just taught a beading class where they got this cone & the students were so frustrated with the thread knotting up constantly that I broke out my Nymo on spools just to get the class taught. I don't know what the difference is but it's a big one.
