About the Arctic Fox (Vulpes lagopus): A genuinely different species adapted to the circumpolar Arctic. It occurs in Arctic regions of Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Scandinavia and Russia. Its classic white winter coat provides camouflage in snowy environments, although there is also a naturally occurring darker “blue” color phase.
