From the eastern seaboard through St. Louis and on to the Rockies, this elegant hat was worn by the "upper crust" of the Fur Trade and was a favorite gift or trade item for Indian leaders. Abe Lincoln reportedly "kept his office in his top hat" by using it to store documents he carried. Made in a heavy, ultra-fine wool, our topper features a 6-1/2" tall flared crown, 2" ribbon hatband, comfortable inside sweatband and an elegantly rolled edge.
