Essential for hunting and working in the backwoods in the 18th & 19th centuries were leather leggings worn over long stockings, breeches, or bare legs. Based on well-documented accounts, these snug fitting buckskin leggings were fashioned after those used by Native Americans and were worn by both longhunters and militia. Our Eastern Longhunter Leggings Kit is simple to make.

- German tanned buckskin for the leggings and garters

Bought this kit, I have leather working and garment sewing experience. Instructions were ok, but extremely hard to assemble lower pieces and use baseball stitching, definitely a better, easier way to accomplish a finished lower on these leggings. I don’t recommend this kit.
