Crazy Crow Trading Post offers this heavy, carbon steel Rifleman's Knife Blade that is 11-1/2" long and 16" overall. Knives with this type blade were carried as personal sidearms by Frontiersmen, Militia and Mountain Men from the Pre-Revolutionary period up through the Fur Trade Era. Blade is 3/16" thick and polished, with a full scale tang.
Since the decline of carbon steel blade production in Solingen, we now offer our most popular blades made in America! These are our 5436 Series blades featured on page 119 of our catalog. Hand ground to our specifications in tough, 1075 Carbon Steel, they are hardened to Rockwell 57-58 and feature 10x24 threads on the round tang models. They are 3/16" thick and made to fit our fine quality German made guards shown on Page 120. We are extremely pleased to bring these back into our line and are sure you will love the quality! HG indicates blades that are Hollow Ground, and FG indicates Flat Ground.
