Early American Frontier Skinner Knife

The skinner knife or skinning knife typically has a wide blade with a deep belly (curved) and extended cutting edge. Blade length varies with the size of the animal, with the most popular ranging from 3" to 6". The edge is strong and does not have much flexibility or spring. Skinning knives are more a hunting tool than a weapon. Crazy Crow Trading Post's readymade skinning knives are authentic reproductions of early American skinning knives, including the fur trade era.
