Crazy Crow Trading Post's Cross L Trade Scalper Knife with Sheath features a hand-forged, 7" tapered half-tang blade, stamped with the authentic "Cross-L" logo. Listed in Northwest Company shipping records, these were often referred to as "red handled knives". Our Cross L Trade Scalper Knife has a one-piece handle of genuine rosewood in natural reddish color, hexagonal in shape and tapered. The handle is held in place with two iron pins and the knife comes complete with a genuine leather sheath.

Our enhanced line of period knives is based on historic examples and styles found throughout the colonial and Fur Trade era. They are hand-forged from carbon steel, tempered to hold a good edge and finished with a nice, aged patina to give them that truly authentic look and feel! Further, each is fitted with a handle made from a period correct wood that is well documented. Sheaths are made from higher quality, vegetable tanned leather in a nice, dark brown color and include a belt loop.
