Product Details
Produced by an accomplished knifemaker, this fine Hand Forged Longhunter's Knife is made of 1095 carbon steel, which is known for its edge holding ability. Each blade is hand forged, hand filed and then heat treated with multiple quenches, the same way the old ones were made. Handles are then selected to enhance the looks of each blade.
The handle of this Hand Forged Longhunter's Knifel is made of select, curly maple and acid stained in the traditional manner. The "birds head" shape of the handle is an early French style that was popular on the frontier in the 18th and early 19th centuries.
Sheaths are custom fitted and finished, being hand sewn with linen thread and made of vegetable tan leather so as not to discolor the blades.
