Dating from 1830's, this hefty knife was originally made for the American trade by Wm. Jackson of Sheffield, England. Its 10" spearpoint Bowie blade is hand-forged from carbon steel, with a heavy brass guard and 6 brass pins that affix the beautiful rosewood grips. Included is an authentic scabbard of heavy black leather, with a formed brass throat which is typical of those of the period. Overall length is 15-1/2". Knife and sheath.

I used this knife in a treking type camp recently. It easily cut small wood and was great in cutting boughs for constructing a primitive shelter. The weight of the blade made easy work. As with most new knives I had to sharpen it, but it kept a good edge. I was even able to do small work with it, such as whittling green sticks to roast meet in my camp fire. Very pleased.
